this is what happens...

...when you let frustration get the better of you.

I watched the Liverpool match this morning - the first I've gotten the opportunity to watch this season so I was pretty excited, looking forward to it, etc.

Prediction: 2 - 0
Score: 1 - 3

we were playing well. i guess we just got unlucky.

Just when we started praising Lucas thinking he's playing much better now, he scores an own goal. not going to help his popularity. but hey, i guess people make mistakes.
Instead of trying to make amends after scoring an own goal, he lost focus and kinda played badly.

Pepe Reina. I feel his pain. He didn't like the referee's decision who gave a corner to the opposition team. So frustration got the better of him. He lost concentration and conceded a goal at his near post right before half time.
oh we were shattered.

I don't think Steven Gerrard played well this morning. well not by his standards anyway. After missing a golden opportunity to score, I think he got frustrated he didn't play that well either. He even miscalculated his timing during a tackle and gave away a penalty just TWO minutes after Torres scored and got us back into the game. damn you should've heard the fans in the stadium.

but towards the end of the game, the ball just didn't seem to want to go in. It just wasn't our night. But sometimes these things just happen in football, and I wouldn't want to blame any of them for this loss.

we made mistakes at crucial times.

we let frustration get the better of us.

I knew I said that I was mentally prepared for whatever happens this season. but two losses in just three games whereas last season we only lost twice in 38 games. absurd.

whatever happened to making Anfield a fortress... 31-games unbeaten home run in the BPL ended.

oh well, time to bounce back. It's time to get back to winning ways and it's up to the experienced players to take more responsibility.

Losing 3-1 sucks, and hurts even more because it's our 2nd defeat in just 3 games. It's not exactly an encouraging start to the season, but it's still very early days, with plenty of time left to turn things around.

I am gutted. but am trying to stay positive. :)

You know what they say,
At the end of the storm, there's a golden sky.
wait. that's from the anthem.

PS: I'm really, really liking Glen Johnson. He brings the oomph to the team. :)

YNWA.
