Romancing Mister Bridgerton

On the sixth of April, in the year 1812 - precisely two days before her sixteenth birthday - Penelope Featherington fell in love.
I have always said that Colin Bridgerton is my favourite out of the whole lot. And after reading this, well, that just confirms it. He's oh so charming, witty, sweet, caring and handsome... Sadly, he's nothing but a fictional character. but what the heck. I adore him. :D

It all started with a dare. Whoever discovers the true identity of the one and only Lady Whistledown will receive a thousand pounds from Lady Danbury - who I'm really liking now. I already knew who Lady Whistledown really is before I read the book so I have to admit, I wasn't entirely hooked. Let's just say that Colin kept me going. ;)

Oh let's not forget about Penelope. I've always liked her. She's my favourite Featherington sister out of the three (there's three right?). I couldn't believe that she was Lady Whistledown when I first found out about it but after reading the book, yeah, she's awesome. 'A Wallflower in the ton'.

Man I felt so high right after I finished reading the book which was around three in the morning. I was squealing in delight throughout the whole book. Yes, I actually squealed. The whole 'glue' thing was hilarious. I was laughing out loud to myself. Who knew that word could be so funny. Sigh. I love the Bridgerton family.

Being well-liked is overrated.

the truth is ugly

theuglytruth
A romantically challenged morning show producer (Katherine Heigl) is reluctantly embroiled in a series of outrageous tests by her chauvinistic correspondent (Gerald Butler) to prove his theories on relationships and help her find love. His clever ploys, however, lead to an unexpected result.

"unexpected"..yeah right...
it was kinda predictable.
but still,

it was hilarious.
i laughed my butt off.
surprisingly,

the chemistry between the two was good.

all in all,

a good comedy.

fun.

funny.

hilarious.
laugh-a-lot movie.

enjoyable.

An Offer From A Gentleman

Everyone knew that Sophie Beckett was a bastard.
I read this book in one night.
I couldn't put it down.
man i have no self-control... :p

it was a little Cinderella-y at the beginning...
...but the twist is amazing.
i felt like i was on an emotional roller coaster ride.

I love the characters and I love the story.
omg...i wish i was Sophie. :)

It'll never be the same again whenever I hear 'Benedict's solution'...

this is what happens...

...when you let frustration get the better of you.

I watched the Liverpool match this morning - the first I've gotten the opportunity to watch this season so I was pretty excited, looking forward to it, etc.

Prediction: 2 - 0
Score: 1 - 3

we were playing well. i guess we just got unlucky.

Just when we started praising Lucas thinking he's playing much better now, he scores an own goal. not going to help his popularity. but hey, i guess people make mistakes.
Instead of trying to make amends after scoring an own goal, he lost focus and kinda played badly.

Pepe Reina. I feel his pain. He didn't like the referee's decision who gave a corner to the opposition team. So frustration got the better of him. He lost concentration and conceded a goal at his near post right before half time.
oh we were shattered.

I don't think Steven Gerrard played well this morning. well not by his standards anyway. After missing a golden opportunity to score, I think he got frustrated he didn't play that well either. He even miscalculated his timing during a tackle and gave away a penalty just TWO minutes after Torres scored and got us back into the game. damn you should've heard the fans in the stadium.

but towards the end of the game, the ball just didn't seem to want to go in. It just wasn't our night. But sometimes these things just happen in football, and I wouldn't want to blame any of them for this loss.

we made mistakes at crucial times.

we let frustration get the better of us.

I knew I said that I was mentally prepared for whatever happens this season. but two losses in just three games whereas last season we only lost twice in 38 games. absurd.

whatever happened to making Anfield a fortress... 31-games unbeaten home run in the BPL ended.

oh well, time to bounce back. It's time to get back to winning ways and it's up to the experienced players to take more responsibility.

Losing 3-1 sucks, and hurts even more because it's our 2nd defeat in just 3 games. It's not exactly an encouraging start to the season, but it's still very early days, with plenty of time left to turn things around.

I am gutted. but am trying to stay positive. :)

You know what they say,
At the end of the storm, there's a golden sky.
wait. that's from the anthem.

PS: I'm really, really liking Glen Johnson. He brings the oomph to the team. :)

YNWA.

Carpe diem

that's right.
seize the day.

21.08.2009

We had Merdeka Celebrations at school. It was alright, i guess. There were some awesome performances. Got to hang out with my friends and just 'lepak' and stuff. So yeah, it was cool. :)

After school, I followed Syafi and Li Teng to Sunway.. and I saw Sal and Qila! I miss them soo much... anyways we wanted to watch a movie but we couldn't decide which..cause of the timing and all. We went to see Tika, Suria and Anis at the bowling alley..but they had to go back early.. Syafi went on her date... so in the end, me, sal and qila watched I Love You, Beth Cooper with Joanne, Azraai, Amelin, Matthew, Vincent, Levia, Avinaash, Andrew and Li Teng. hmm...am i missing anyone? :)

Anyway, the movie was hilarious! Five Little Words Can Change Your Life! There were times that I absolutely laughed out loud like when Beth's psycho boyfriend, Kevin kept going after Denis and just beating the heck out of him each time. And yeah, gotta watch the uncut version some time.. after puasa kot..hehe..

Well the three of us ate steamboat for dinner! After the second round, I was suppose to pay for the third..but dah kenyang..hehe.. I'll belanja ya guys next time aite! ;)

When they went back, I hanged out with Amelin, Azraai, Emilie, Matthew and Joanne. and got free Timberland bottles! for just looking around..hehe.. hey, the bottle is cute!

So I went back with Joanne around 9 maybe.. Ya know it's not that easy giving directions at night.. and I left my gummies in the car..haha.. =D

Fun times, fun times.

Montreal Open

never before has the top 8 ranked players in the world been in a quarterfinal of any tournament all at once. so it's a big deal. and what with Roger Federer being the top seed and world no. 1 and all that. so yeah. pressure and expectations are all on him.. but to lose the way he did..when he was so close to winning and ending the game.

so he lost the first set in a tiebreak..whatever. it was entertaining to watch anyway. and i knew he would comeback. and he did. in the second set where he won 6-1. so feeling good about the third set....... he's leading 5-1. he was suppose to serve for the match. end it. game over. but no.

what did he do instead? lost concentration? who knows. he just let Tsonga back into the game. who eventually won the match. unbelievable. the strangest tennis match i have ever watched.

anyway, i'm in the process of getting over it. it's only a game. even if he made it through, he would have to play against Andy Murray (who i really want to see Roger beat badly). there's always the US Open right :)

here's what i learned from this morning's game:
  • things can all change in a second.
  • never expect too much from someone. they'd feel the pressure and plus, when they don't deliver you'll just feel disappointed.
  • Don't be premature and look towards to the future when you're still in the present. (Darn commentators where already talking about Roger being in the semifinal in the middle of the game...giving people false hopes..)
  • Yes, don't give other people false hopes.
  • And lastly, whatever happens we gotta move on. There's really nothing we can do about it.

Well i feel much better now... Rafael Nadal losing kinda makes it better. hehe.. but i hope Murray doesn't win the whole thing. hey maybe i should support him then he'll lose..since i seem to bring bad luck nowadays.. haha.. first Lee Chong Wei. then Roger. not Liverpool next.

Hey, let's cheer up and support Roger for the next tournament in Cincinnati! :)
