An eventful US Open,

Two weeks of awesome tennis. Two weeks of waking up early to watch it live. Well, not every single day of course. Definitely the most entertaining grand slam tournament of the year 2009.

Let's start with John Isner, my favourite tennis player - besides Roger Federer of course. One heck of a tall guy - 6 foot 9 - who defeated fellow American and friend, Andy Roddick in a thrilling five set match. I've seen one of his matches before but this, well, this one was spectacular. Only 24 years old, the way he played was great and how he kept his composure. I also noticed how he bounces the ball in between his legs everytime he serves. He says it's his habit. He's just such a cool guy.

Not like Vera Zvonareva. She just lost her mind after losing the second set. She started shouting to herself, tearing off the tape she had on her knees, hitting the net and herself on the head repeatedly with the racket. She definitely lost her cool. It was hilarious to watch though.

How can we forget, Melanie Oudin. The American dream. Only seventeen years old, she's defeated three top players. Interestingly, all three are Russian. After upsetting three seeds in a row, Melanie’s Cinderella run at this year’s US Open ends with a quarterfinal loss but no doubt, she has won the hearts of tennis fans worldwide. You just gotta love her fighting spirit.

As for Serena William's fighting spirit... Well, a little too much? Cursing at the "Chinese immigrant-looking line judge" (as Kailaish would call her), threatening to "take this [expletive] ball and shove it down your [expletive] throat!" That cost her the match of course, after smashing her racket earlier. Late night drama, I love it.

Congratulations to Kim Clijsters for winning the title during her comeback. After being out for almost four years after giving birth to her daughter, she's still playing as if she never left.

This time around Roger Federer was gunning for his sixth US Open title in a row and extending his grand slams title to 16. Unfortunately, he had to pass on the crown after losing to Del Potro in five sets. Disappointed? Yes, some people says that it was the one that got away but I believe sweet sixteen will come next time - hopefully when I'm still sixteen. Hahaha. Hey, even the best loses right? Besides, like Roger said, five is already great. Plus, he's had an amazing year.

All in all, it's been a wonderful grand slam tournament that I'll never forget. Ooh and I will always most definitely remember Roger Federer's awesome shot of his entire career!

Go

little change of the heart, little light in the dark.
little hope that you just might find your way up out of here.
cause youve been hiding for days, wasting wasting away.
but ive got a little hope that today you'll face your fears.
yeah i know its not easy, i know that its hard.
follow the lights to the city.

get up and go take a chance and be strong
you could spend youre whole life holding on
dont look back just go
take a breath move along
you could spend your whole life holding on
you could spend your whole life holding on

believe the tunnel can end
believe your body can mend
yeah i know you can make it through cause i believe in you
so lets go put up a fight lets go make eveything alright
go on and take a shot go give it all youve got

i know its not easy
i know that its hard
no its not always pretty

get up and go
take a chance and be strong
you could spend your whole life holding on
dont look back just go
take a breath move along
you could spend your whole life holding on
you could spend your whole life holding on

dont wanna wake up to the telephone ring
why you sitting down i need to tell you something
enough is enough you can stop waiting to breathe

you could spend your whole life holding on
don't look back just go
take a breath move along
you could spend your whole life holding on
get up and go
take a chance and be strong
you could spend your whole life holding on
don't look back just go

first of september, first day of school

Back to school after one week of holiday. Well, ten days actually. Anyway, it was good. Great to see everyone again. I missed them... I felt like I haven't seen everyone in a long time. Especially Stephanie and Audrey. What has it been? A month? But Audrey came late today so I didn't really see her. ;)

Got some of my papers back today. My results weren't too bad - by my standards anyway. I passed my Physics! Surprised but glad. =D For the rest of my papers, well, Maths and Pendidikan Islam were good.. Chemistry, B (almost A :p).. BM not too bad.. but hey, it's not the real format. It's only Assessment 2. I told myself that I am going to study really hard for the finals from now on. =D

Oh the US Open is starting today! Well, it already started. Roger won! I couldn't watch it though.. cause of the timing and all. But hey, I'll watch him in the final. I know he'll make it. :)

Romancing Mister Bridgerton

On the sixth of April, in the year 1812 - precisely two days before her sixteenth birthday - Penelope Featherington fell in love.
I have always said that Colin Bridgerton is my favourite out of the whole lot. And after reading this, well, that just confirms it. He's oh so charming, witty, sweet, caring and handsome... Sadly, he's nothing but a fictional character. but what the heck. I adore him. :D

It all started with a dare. Whoever discovers the true identity of the one and only Lady Whistledown will receive a thousand pounds from Lady Danbury - who I'm really liking now. I already knew who Lady Whistledown really is before I read the book so I have to admit, I wasn't entirely hooked. Let's just say that Colin kept me going. ;)

Oh let's not forget about Penelope. I've always liked her. She's my favourite Featherington sister out of the three (there's three right?). I couldn't believe that she was Lady Whistledown when I first found out about it but after reading the book, yeah, she's awesome. 'A Wallflower in the ton'.

Man I felt so high right after I finished reading the book which was around three in the morning. I was squealing in delight throughout the whole book. Yes, I actually squealed. The whole 'glue' thing was hilarious. I was laughing out loud to myself. Who knew that word could be so funny. Sigh. I love the Bridgerton family.

Being well-liked is overrated.

the truth is ugly

theuglytruth
A romantically challenged morning show producer (Katherine Heigl) is reluctantly embroiled in a series of outrageous tests by her chauvinistic correspondent (Gerald Butler) to prove his theories on relationships and help her find love. His clever ploys, however, lead to an unexpected result.

"unexpected"..yeah right...
it was kinda predictable.
but still,

it was hilarious.
i laughed my butt off.
surprisingly,

the chemistry between the two was good.

all in all,

a good comedy.

fun.

funny.

hilarious.
laugh-a-lot movie.

enjoyable.

Abby: You love me? Why?
