Montreal Open

never before has the top 8 ranked players in the world been in a quarterfinal of any tournament all at once. so it's a big deal. and what with Roger Federer being the top seed and world no. 1 and all that. so yeah. pressure and expectations are all on him.. but to lose the way he did..when he was so close to winning and ending the game.

so he lost the first set in a tiebreak..whatever. it was entertaining to watch anyway. and i knew he would comeback. and he did. in the second set where he won 6-1. so feeling good about the third set....... he's leading 5-1. he was suppose to serve for the match. end it. game over. but no.

what did he do instead? lost concentration? who knows. he just let Tsonga back into the game. who eventually won the match. unbelievable. the strangest tennis match i have ever watched.

anyway, i'm in the process of getting over it. it's only a game. even if he made it through, he would have to play against Andy Murray (who i really want to see Roger beat badly). there's always the US Open right :)

here's what i learned from this morning's game:
  • things can all change in a second.
  • never expect too much from someone. they'd feel the pressure and plus, when they don't deliver you'll just feel disappointed.
  • Don't be premature and look towards to the future when you're still in the present. (Darn commentators where already talking about Roger being in the semifinal in the middle of the game...giving people false hopes..)
  • Yes, don't give other people false hopes.
  • And lastly, whatever happens we gotta move on. There's really nothing we can do about it.

Well i feel much better now... Rafael Nadal losing kinda makes it better. hehe.. but i hope Murray doesn't win the whole thing. hey maybe i should support him then he'll lose..since i seem to bring bad luck nowadays.. haha.. first Lee Chong Wei. then Roger. not Liverpool next.

Hey, let's cheer up and support Roger for the next tournament in Cincinnati! :)
